Hi,
As you may have seen from other media reports, the blog was in fact the group of a work of artists and writers based in and around Shanghai, Moganshan Lu.
Currently the members are working on other projects. One is in Nanjing, where s/he owns an art gallery, one is in Japan, and one is in Australia. The last two members are somewhere on the mainland.
You will appreciate that we are not going to give out any specific details, least of all to the Chinese press. While I am sure you have integrity, you must know that for your superiors there is no such thing as an `anonymous‘ source. China does have the highest number of imprisoned journalist in the world, you know.
Frankly the fact that you even ask for my real name makes me wonder if you really are a journalist. Certainly, your email does not come from a company account.
We wrote the blog to investigate modern attitudes to race, sex, and politics. China claims that it is an open, modern society, that it has
freedom of speech, and that the `mistakes' of the past, such as the Cultural Revolution, belong to history only. The blog contained no forced sex, racism, or unjustifiable claims.
As you are a journalist, you can judge the reaction to the blog yourself, and form your own opinion as to what it says about modern China.
Best,
The CB team
